Where to Stay in Paris with a Baby
Deciding where to stay in Paris with a baby will depend on what you wish to see and do in Paris. Two of the best areas to stay in Paris with a baby or toddler are Le Marais or St. Germain.
Le Marais
Le Marais is a historic Paris neighborhood which spreads across the 3rd and 4th arrondissements. It’s conveniently located close to, but far enough away from of many main attractions in Paris, such as the Louvre and Notre Dame. It’s home to the amazing modern art museum Centre Pompidou and has lots of wonderful Parisian cafés and restaurants.
As a bonus, many consider this the best shopping neighborhood in Paris. The streets tend to get quieter as you head more north in this neighborhood.

St. Germain
St. Germain is another excellent neighborhood for parents visiting Paris with a baby. Located in the 6th arrondissement, it is central to the main attractions of Paris which makes your walking time much shorter. It’s especially close to Notre-Dame, Musée d’Orsay and Jardin du Luxembourg.
It has all the wonderful dining and shopping options you’d expect from one of Paris’ top neighborhoods. One caution is that there are many nightclubs in this area, so check your location carefully to ensure it won’t be noisy at night.

Baby-Friendly Paris Vacation Home Rentals
On our first several trips with our baby, we simply did as we always do on vacation – we rented a hotel room. Everything went great with these baby-friendly hotel rooms, but it was on our trip to London and Paris that we discovered there are some advantages of staying in a baby-friendly Airbnb or VRBO.
Airbnb and VRBO rentals have many family-friendly features, especially for parents traveling with a baby. The biggest advantage is having separate bedrooms, which allows you to keep your bedroom lights on while your baby gets to sleep in a separate, quiet, dark room. Other baby-friendly features of vacation home rentals include a full kitchen and in-suite laundry facilities.

When we visited Paris with our toddler, our vacation home rental apartment was just east of the Eiffel Tower in the 7e arrondissement. Despite its distance from the rest of Paris’ attractions, we were drawn to this location by the amazing view of the Eiffel Tower we had from our bedroom. The location meant lots of walking and taking the subway, but for us, the view of the Eiffel Tower was worth it.
